Session A1: Recursion

In this laboratory session, you will investigate an alternate control mechanism for repetition: recursion. The goals of this session are to

• motivate the uses of recursion;
• compare recursion and iteration; and
• introduce a few key important functions.

Your instructor will tell you which of the proposed experiments you are to perform.

Prerequisite skills:

• Java methods
• Java's looping mechanisms: while and for loops
• Java's conditional execution statements: if and switch
