I’m behind on this page! If you rely on this for a list of upcoming shows and it’s not up to date, drop me a message and I’ll try to get it updated.

One of the few positives of the pandemic is that it has allowed a variety of online communities to develop. One of my favorite communities consists of an ever-growing group of musical performers and the people who come to their shows. Teese musicians not only perform and converse with their audiences (or vice versa), they also attend and promote each others’ shows, which further builds the community.

Here are lists of the musicians (I hope I haven’t missed any) and some upcoming shows (I hope I haven’t missed many). I’ll try to keep it up to date. Contact me at rebelsky@grinnell.edu if I don’t. All links are to StageIt.

Note that there are often additional shows. For example, Isabella Gueds sometimes plays Monday shows, Hannah Woolmer sometimes plays additional Friday shows, and Gemma Turner sometimes adds special themed shows.

The artists

Danika and the Jeb: Danika and the Jeb play Acoustic Pop Soul. Danika has a wonderful voice, and Jeb is an amazing guitar player. D&tJ play shows on Tuesdays at 1:00 PM/7:00 PM Central time (7:00 PM/1:00 AM GMT).
Sonia D: Sonia plays acoustic folk and does innovative covers and wonderful originals. She accompanies herself on guitar and keyboard (although not at the same time). Sonia plays Thursdays at 1:30 PM Central time (7:30 PM GMT), although rumour has it that she is adding Monday afternoon shows.
Hannah Woolmer: Hannah is a classical violinist who also does classical crossover. She also composes, runs an orchestra, and has a weekly radio show. Her shows tend to have her accompanied by pre-recorded music. Hannah plays in front of a green screen, which allows her to incorporate a variety of backgrounds in her music. Hannah is supported in her efforts by a disembodied voice and hand that are sometimes referred to as The Boy. Hannah performs on Wednesdays at 2:00 PM CST (8:00 PM GMT), Fridays at 3:00 PM CST (9:00 PM GMT), and Sundays at 10:00 AM CST (4:00 PM GMT). She also performs the occasional US Friday Show on Fridays at 7:00 PM CST (1:00 AM GMT).
Pianist Daniel Roberts: Daniel (or Dan or DanR or PDR) is a talented pianist who has been a member of Hannah Woolmer’s orchestra. He plays classical, jazz, and Brazilian, as well as his own compositions. He’s also known for making jokes (at least I think he is). At present, Daniel plays on Sundays at 3:00 PM CST (9:00 PM GMT).
Nathalie Miranda: Nathalie is a great soul/blues singer with a giant voice. She does both amazing covers (including some really uenxpected ones) and writes great soul originals. I know she also plays in a band during non-Covid times; it must be amazing to see her with live backing. Her Monday evening shows 5:45 PM CST (11:45 PM GMT) often have themes. She’s recently added a new Thursday time slot at 2:30 PM CST (8:30 PM GMT).
Isabella Gueds: Isabella (also Bella, I think) plays cover songs, accompanying herself on keyboard or ukulele. She has a great voice, but she’s also just developing her voice and performance style. I’ve seen her schedule shows at a variety of times, but she seems to have settled on Mondays and Thursdays at 12:30 PM CST (6:30 PM GMT)
Gemma Turner: Gemma is a classical crossover artist with a powerful voice who sings a wide variety of genres, accompanied by prerecorded music. Gemma usually plays shows on Fridays at 12:00 CST (6:00 PM GMT) and 2:00 CST (8:00 PM GMT).
