4/11 ~11:05-11:25: Assembled a rough client. Only set to pass strings. ~11:25-12:28: Assembled a rough server. Only set to recieve/pass strings. 4/12 ~7:15-7:45: Reworked the client-server pair with some discoveries about switch in mind ~9:25-10:15: Helped to plan out the UI. Adding functionality for the creature grid. ~10:15-10:30 :Investiagting scrollbars, with no progress, since scrollbar works only with canvas 4/13 ~8:30-9:10:Worked to understand Tkinter, and added non-functional scrollbars 9:10-9:55: Tried to adapt the grid to pack, for functionality, and discovered that pack doesn't work logically. 4/20 ~3:15-5:00 Implemented simple tests with Jesse for model, and used those tests to clean up the implementation of the predicates and of Species.addRule(). 5/2 ~2:00-3:15 Tried to understand code, and the pickling process. 3:15-4:00 Poked at world server to get it to actually accept clients. No progress. 5/4 ~3:40-4:40 Worked to understand code, and add questions and comments. ~7:00-9:30 Helped Dylan with cleaning up worldserver. ~10:30-11:30 Added comments to code, including comments by multiple P's. Also made minor changes to client/server to stem off possible malicious intent. 5/5 ~9:00-10:30 Talked some high-level design ideas about network stuff and helped Dylan to expand handlers and testing. Also cleaned out some unnecessary code. Dealing with a bit of fustration with lists of instructions. 5/6 ~10:15-11:15am Finally fixed the network test, and started to investigate linking to the GUI. 11:30-11:45am Made more logical sense of things, and redid list handler 5/10 ~8:15-10:15 Worked first on creating a save board function and then on investiagting database, and fixing a GUI bug that allowed the placing of non-existent species. 5/11 3:05-4:00 Tweaked around with code to try to get LocalWorld to pickle, and failed. 8:00-9:00 More fail for pickling. NOTHING CAN BE PICKLED, RAVI!!! 5/18 9:15-11:00 Investigated and fixed a bug in SpeciesSetup that made rules fully exist even if they were cancelled out. Still working on a bug that duplicates rules for an edit and replace action. 11:00-2:45(5/19) Fought and Fought with speciesDatabase and ConflictResolver to try to speed up the code, but to little avail (58 rounds of Conway in 30 seconds on a 100x100 board.) 5/19 Lesson 1: Avoid deathmarches in the real world 2:45-4:00 (AM...) Undid a very nasty and persistent bug that I accidentally introduced.
