What do the variants for part four look like?
- Section 1 takes a shape and makes a list of variant shapes (e.g.,
changing size or color).
- Section 2 takes a list (or list of lists) of shapes and turns them
all into the same shape.
- Section 3 takes a list (or list of lists) of shapes and alternately
puts them beside (centered) or above (centered) each other. You should
choose something else.
Do we have to verify that the parameters are correct?
Nope. You can let it crash.
Will we have to use conditionals to decide whether we have a list or not?

Difficult issues
I realize that many other issues will interfere with your ability to
discuss these issues deeply. Nonetheless, I’d like to consider them a
bit, particularly since our second SoLA is immediately after spring break.
Issue 1: Take-home exams
You already have the background for this one.

TPS: How should I address issues of inappropriate collaboration and
potential ChatGPT/Generative AI use?
- I am not allowed to (a) talk to the students about the issue or (b)
do followup testing; I have to submit it as a CAS case for suspected
violations of academic integrity.
- Some people will cheat no matter what you do, so do what’s best for the
class and report suspicions.
- If it looks like ChatGPT, try ChatGPT to see if you get something similar.
- Cross our fingers that this conversation will remind people not to
take shortcuts.
Issue 2: Struggling students
Background: A higher percentage of students are struggling in CSC-151
than I’ve ever seen. And, believe it or not, I’ve cut back on the work
in the MPs. But there are also students who are doing fine, including
students who haven’t programmed before. What should I/we do?

- Check on whether people go to mentor sessions and encourage them to do

- Check in with people who are struggling about what their issues are.
