One issue I've experienced in past weeks is that many CS302 students seem to have only a vague understanding of higher-order programming.

This year, I'm trying a different approach to re-ground you in these issues: We're going to use a variant of some labs developed in 151 for just that purpose.

Approximate schedule:

Today: Getting you started with GIMP and Script-Fu.
Wednesday: Pixel-oriented operations (starts higher-order stuff)
Friday: Point-oriented operations (continues higher-order stuff)
Early next week: Reflect on learning
