One-Time Configuration for the World of Java

• Open a terminal window by clicking on the computer screen.
• Type mkdir CS152
• Edit your .bashrc file with gedit or your favorite editor (e.g., type gedit .bashrc.
• Add the following lines to the end of your .bashrc:

  alias jc="/opt/IBMJava2-142/bin/javac"
  alias ji="/opt/IBMJava2-142/bin/java"
  alias ant="ji /usr/share/java/ant-1.5.jar"
  export CLASSPATH=".:/home/yourusername/CS152/:/home/rebelsky/Web/Courses/CS152/2004F/Examples"
